Carbon Cleanse FAQ Ingredients, Safety, Shipping & More

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Carbon Cleanse — two ingredients, zero compromise.

🍊 Product & Ingredients

Carbon Cleanse contains just two active ingredients: d-Limonene (a powerful citrus-derived solvent extracted from orange peels) and Decyl Glucoside (a gentle, plant-based surfactant derived from coconut oil and corn glucose), blended with purified water. That's it — no dyes, fragrances, parabens, phthalates, or synthetic chemicals. Every ingredient is plant-derived and fully biodegradable.
It's a one-two punch. The d-Limonene acts as a nonpolar solvent — it dissolves grease, oil, and grime on contact at the molecular level. The Decyl Glucoside is a surfactant that lifts the dissolved grime off the surface and suspends it in the water so you can wipe it away cleanly. Together, they deliver industrial-strength cleaning power without the chemical cocktail.
Carbon Cleanse works on virtually any hard surface — countertops (including granite and quartz), stainless steel, glass, tile, porcelain, sealed wood, laminate, appliances, stovetops, sinks, and outdoor furniture. It cuts through kitchen grease, soap scum, fingerprints, and general grime. Avoid: unsealed natural stone (marble, travertine), waxed surfaces, and unfinished wood, as the citrus solvent may strip waxes or sealants.
Carbon Cleanse is not an EPA-registered product because we make no pesticidal or antimicrobial claims. Our product is a cleaner and degreaser — we don't claim it kills bacteria, viruses, or any pests. All of our ingredients are on the EPA's Safer Chemical Ingredients List, and Carbon Cleanse meets applicable TSCA and OSHA GHS requirements for industrial/household cleaning products.
Yes — a natural, fresh citrus scent from the d-Limonene. We don't add any synthetic fragrances. What you smell is literally the orange peel extract doing its job. The scent fades quickly after cleaning.
Carbon Cleanse is available in a 23 and 32 oz spray bottles with a professional-grade trigger sprayer. This is a generous size that lasts most households several weeks of regular use. Carbon Cleanse also offers a 1 gallon (US) refill jug and for larger uses a 5 gallon (US) pail.

🛡️ Safety & Usage

Carbon Cleanse is made from plant-derived, biodegradable ingredients and is far gentler than conventional cleaners. However, like any cleaning product, it should be kept out of reach of children. The concentrated d-Limonene can cause serious eye irritation on direct contact. Always store it safely, and avoid spraying near faces. Once a surface has been cleaned and wiped, it is safe for children and pets to touch.
Remove contact lenses if present. Rinse eyes cautiously with clean water for several minutes. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Full first-aid instructions are printed on every bottle label and in our Safety Data Sheet (SDS), available upon request.
Carbon Cleanse is free of synthetic fragrances, dyes, parabens, phthalates, and common irritants found in conventional cleaners. However, d-Limonene is a citrus compound — individuals with known citrus allergies or very sensitive skin should test on a small area first. Discontinue use if skin irritation occurs.
d-Limonene is a naturally flammable liquid. At the diluted concentration in Carbon Cleanse, the risk is minimal under normal household use. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and open flames. Do not puncture or incinerate the container.
Absolutely. Email us at support@carboncleanse.com and we'll send you our full 16-section GHS-compliant SDS. We believe in full ingredient transparency.

🌱 Sustainability & Values

Yes. Carbon Cleanse is never tested on animals. Our ingredients — d-Limonene, Decyl Glucoside, and water — have decades of established safety data, so no animal testing is needed or conducted at any point in our supply chain.
Our bottles are made from HDPE plastic, which is widely accepted by curbside recycling programs (recycling code #2). The trigger sprayer should be removed before recycling the bottle. We also offer 1-gallon and 5-gallon refill sizes so you can reuse your spray bottle and reduce packaging waste.
Most "green" cleaners still contain 8–15 ingredients, including preservatives, stabilizers, and proprietary blends. Carbon Cleanse takes a radically simpler approach: two active ingredients and water. No hidden ingredient lists, no "proprietary blend" language. You know exactly what's in the bottle, and every ingredient is a recognizable, plant-derived compound. We believe the cleanest cleaner is the simplest one.
Yes. Both d-Limonene and Decyl Glucoside are readily biodegradable. They break down naturally in the environment without leaving behind persistent chemical residues. Carbon Cleanse is safe for septic systems and greywater.
